She holds a degree in Curatorial Studies and completed a Master’s degree in Photography at Utrecht School of Arts-Holland and a Law Dregree at Universidade do Minho ( 1998).&nbsp; She have a Pós-doc Research at Escola de Belas Artes Universidade Federal do Rio de Janeiro Brazil(2020), developing studies on contemporary visual practices that problematize the hybrid forms of photography, in intersection with other languages, such as Painting, Cinema and Literature. Member of the research group NANO New arts Organisms of the School of Fine Arts of UFRJ. (NanoLab), Rio de Janeiro, Brasil. Ângela Ferreira is Co-Founder of the Portuguese PhotoFestival Encontros da Imagem (2006), an International Photography Festival based in Braga Portugal, which has collaborated as Artistic Director and Curator. In this role she has worked on several solo exhibitions including Malick Sidibé, Viviane Sassen, Christto &amp; Andrew, Brian Griffin, Karen Knorr, Cristina de Middel, Roger Ballen, Ren Hang, Carlos Spottorno, Phil Toledano. She has lectured on contemporary photography throughout Europe and latin American Countries, particularly in Brazil, Uruguay and Colombia, and acted as a curator for both national and international exhibitions. In 2018 was one of the guest curators of the Beijng Photography Biennale in China organized by the Central Academy of Fine Arts and the Beijing Museum of Art (CAFA Art Museum). Actually she is Professor at Escola de Comunicação Arte e Cultura ( ECATI- Universidade Lusófona, Lisboa, at Departamento de Cinema e Artes dos Media and&nbsp;Escola de Arquitetura, Arte e Design da Universidade do Minho. She was guest Ajdunct Professor 2016-2022 at the Polytechnic Institute of Porto (ESMAD School of Media Arts and Design), &nbsp;where she coordinated the International Summer School and the Pós Graduation in Photobooks.&nbsp; Since 2017, she is curatorial member of Photography Museum in Fortaleza, Brazil and currently she is artistic advisor of the FotoFestival SOLAR and counselor of the Photography Program at the Secretary State of Culture of Ceará, Brazil. &nbsp; She collaborates with local and international artists with&nbsp; focuses on the development of cultural exchanges and social problems. She often works with human rights advocates, and as well as being involved as a nominator and juror for the international photographic organizations, festivals and events. archive to extract poetic forms from the cartographic conjuncture that led me to inhabit, in the last decade, two lands intrinsically connected by the expansionism of modern history: my homeland, Portugal, and the mestizo son, Brazil. TRANSA&nbsp; appears as a motto for a reflection on contemporary existence, threatened by the limbo and brutality of the colonization processes that are now reversing. TRANSA, baladas do último sol explores a broad experimental approach in a multidisciplinary body of work that refers to photography, literature, comic book, painting and cinema in order to createa story inspired by the myth of Iracema, the “virgin of honey lips” from José de Alencar’s novel, an indigenous woman from the Tabajara tribe who represents the purity, trust and open giving of the virgin land. Allegory, history and fiction invade the present and stay there, confusing the linearity of Western History and reopening the badly told, unresolved gaps of knowledge. capable of revealing the feline strength of the eternally in love poet, Zé Marinheiro was his name, who tried to draw a clear framework of the long afternoon hours awaiting for his loved one, when he stole all away from the future of the world. This is how I use the idea of image in the pursuit of the moment of things, a quest to portrait such a worldwide love, hence so difficult to manage. For the endeavour of this inner journey I felt the need of this shipwreck to remake the cause that was lost in time, while harvesting this environment. From the hands of Eça de Queiroz, its a realistic script that pointed out all the defects of the protagonists, the family Maias.&nbsp; The Palace of Ramalhete its represented by the portuguese&nbsp;House of Sezim in Guimarães&nbsp;and the Museum of the Biscainhos in Braga, which are some of the stages of the action.
